A dense bush with strong pink, semi-double loose flowers and an intense old-rose fragrance.
This extremely hardy tall shrub retains a lovely urn shape without any maintenance and grows to around 2 metres tall X 1.2 metres wide and is deserving of being planted in great rose hedge-rows as it will withstand everything Nature throws at it and its tough, leathery, typically Rugosa foliage isextremely disease resistant.
Repeat blooms all season long but also like others in this category, it produces few of the colourful hips that other rugosas cover themselves in. You can’t win them all!
Soft burrs for thorns smother the stems – these burrs can keep feral animals from invading the plant and you will therefore see Rugosa roses growing in once inhabited areas, the rose having withstood the test of time!
Old World or Heritage Roses are often sought after for their nostalgic appearance and unforgettable fragrance. They are quite often very vigorous, thorny and will cope with almost anything that is being dished up to them.
Note that growth size is a guide only - ultimate size will depend on the growing conditions in your garden.
