Fruit & Citrus plants are heavy feeders and take up significant amount nutrients regularly to put up their growth and produce. Fruit trees when particularly grown in large container/pots, use of common granular fertilisers may not be suitable. Most standard low cost granular fertilisers may be chloride based and result in accumulation of salt in containers on continuous use in the long run. Hence for container grown plants, it is advisable to use good quality soluble fertilisers (without chloride based Potassium) or good quality slow release or organic based granules.
