Every garden needs a few of these beautiful low growing beauties! This small, evergreen perennial more commonly known as 'candytuft' has always been highly regarded as a decorative garden plant.
The attractive foliage forms a neat dome which is cloaked in lacy white flower heads throughout winter and spring. Spot flowering can also appear during the rest of the year.
Ideal as a 'betweener' in a mixed garden display
where it will not only mask the absence of herbaceous perennials or bulbs during winter but also offers a sparkling display of flowers during this dull time of year.
Plant in full sun – part shade. Will grow in low light areas but may need more trimming to maintain a bushier form. Ideal in rockeries or for retaining walls and embankments where it will trail over edges if allowed. Can be grown well in containers or smaller spaces also.
Grows well in most soil types that are moist but well draining. Tolerates dry conditions well once established but should not be allowed to dry out completely during extended periods of heat. No pruning generally required. Feed after main flowering flush with a slow release fertiliser for best results.
The glossy evergreen foliage of this spring/summer flowering favourite forms a billowing mound that is covered in gorgeous white flowers during spring/summer.
It
looks fantastic cascading over rocks and walls, or used as a groundcover or small border.
Drought and frost tolerant once established.
SUGGESTED USES:
•Mass plant large drifts for decorative ground cover.
•Container or hanging basket displays.
•Soft edging for paths or paved areas.
•Will cascade over retaining walls, rockeries and embankments.
