‘Groovy Baby’ makes the perfect container plant for outdoor entertaining areas. One of the main features of ‘Groovy Baby’ is its cold tolerance, successful in low to zero temperatures and tolerant of low exposure to light frosts. ‘Groovy Baby’ is a heavy and free flowering plant with stunning almost black flower buds which open to a long flowering deep purple fan of petals. Attractive evergreen foliage which is accentuated by seasonal copper tonings.
Large, electric purple flowers adorn the plant throughout the warmer months providing stunning colour. The bright vibrant flowers are significant both in size and in the number produced per plant, not uncommonly covering the plant to the point that foliage is difficult to see.

Performs best in a moist, well drained soil. Tibouchina 'Groovy Baby' has medium water requirements once established. Fertilise up to twice per year after flowering (autumn/spring) using a general purpose slow release fertiliser according to manufacturer instructions. Protect from heavy frosts. Once established water requirements are low but do not allow to dry out over extended periods of heat. Pruning generally not required.
