Tassie's favourite potato!
First recorded in Tasmania in 1944, this beautiful creamy yellow fleshed potato has purple blotches on the skin and deep pink eyes - hence the name. A waxy potato that is delicious when mashed, or boiled and served as 'new' potatoes with butter. Perfect in salads, for boiling, steaming or roasting. Early maturing.
Potatoes should be planted in an area that is sheltered with full sun and moist, well-drained soil once all chance of frosts have passed.
If potatoes have been previously grown for two years in succession, avoid planting in the same plot.
