BLUEBERRY BRIGITTA
$26.95
Brigitta is a hardy, deciduous blueberry with an upright growing habit. Small, fragrant white flowers appear in spring, followed by generous crops of large, firm, pale-blue berries towards the end of summer. Under good growing conditions, an established plant can produce approximately 6 - 9kg of flavoursome fruit.
The berries keep particularly well after picking and are excellent for eating fresh, baking, freezing or preserving. Pick the ripe fruit carefully, as the berries can drop easily.
Brigitta is self-pollinating, so it can produce fruit when grown on its own. However, planting it near another compatible variety can improve pollination and increase fruit production.
Plant in full sun to semi-shade in acidic, well-drained loamy or sandy soil. Brigitta is also suitable for a large container filled with potting mix formulated for acid-loving plants.
Growing approximately 1m high and 1m wide, Brigitta provides year-round interest with spring flowers, late-season fruit and attractive autumn foliage in shades of red, orange and yellow.
