Camellia sasanqua 'Early Pearly'
This delightful evergreen shrub is celebrated for its pure white, double flowers that bloom from late autumn to early winter. With a bushy, upright plant with glossy dark green leaves and pure white flowers, its vigorous lateral branches make it ideal for espalier or narrow hedges. Left unpruned, it forms a dense, cascading habit, while light pruning creates a neat, green hedge.
Early Pearly thrives in full sun or partial shade and is also perfect for use as screening, topiary and in pots/containers. Grows 2-3m H x 2m W.
Plant so the top of the mix is level with the soil surface. Water well and mulch with 5cm of quality mulch, keeping it away from the trunk. Prune in early spring for shape.
Feed in spring with a general-purpose fertiliser, and replenish in late summer if needed.
