This delightful Camellia has a strong bushy upright habit with dark green glossy foliage which highlights the masses of pure white flowers produced from early autumn through to early winter. Grows 2-3m H x 2m W.
Early Pearly grows vigorous lateral (side) branches making it excellent for espalier or narrow hedges. It can be left unpruned and will display a dense slightly cascading habit or if lightly pruned in spring/ summer will form a neat deep green hedge.
Early Pearly makes a perfect for use as a hedge, screen, espalier, topiary, feature plant, standard or in pots and containers.
Plant in full sun to part shade in free draining soil. Ensure that the top of the potting mix is level with the finished soil line when planting, and firm down soil gently around the plant for stability, then water in well.
Mulch the soil surface with about 5cm of quality mulch ensuring the mulch is not mounded against the plants trunk. Ensure the soil is kept moist but not overwatered. Watering can be reduced as the plant establishes.
Prune in early spring for shape as required.
Feed in spring with a quality general purpose fertiliser and replenish in mid to late Summer as needed.
We recommend you use Debco Rose, Gardenia and Azalea Premium Potting Mix if planting in a container.
