'King Edward' is popular roasting variety. With gorgeous, creamy-white flesh and a light, soft texture that will rarely lose its colour when cooked.

Potatoes should be planted in an area that is sheltered with full sun and moist, well-drained soil once all chance of frosts have passed.

If potatoes have been previously grown for two years in succession, avoid planting in the same plot.

If space is limited, growing in potato bags is a great option.

Water regularly, keeping the soil moist and well-drained throughout the growing period. Main crop varieties will also benefit from a nitrogenous fertiliser when you earth them up for the second time.
