Grow your own delicious berries with the Gooseberry, a hardy deciduous fruiting shrub that performs particularly well in cool climates. Producing an abundance of tart, juicy berries from late spring through summer, gooseberries are delicious eaten fresh or used in jellies, jams, preserves and desserts.
Easy to grow and wonderfully productive, Gooseberries develop on small, thorny, branching shrubs reaching approximately 1.2 metres high and 1 metre wide. They prefer a sunny to partly shaded position with moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil.
Mulch well to help retain soil moisture, and prune smaller, weaker branches as needed to maintain an open plant with good airflow. Grows to 1.2m x 1m
