Grafted black Passionfruit Nellie Kellie (Passiflora edulis) is grown on hardy rootstock - this creates plants that are less susceptible to disease, pests and frosts and allows for greater fruit production.
Self-fertile, it is a prolific producer of purple skinned, oval shaped, medium sized fruit that is delightfully juicy and tangy. The longer it is allowed to ripen on the vine, the sweeter the fruit becomes (wrinkled fruit is the sweetest).
Ideal for cooler climates as long as adequate protection from the cold is given. Can withstand light frosts.
